The city administration discussed the implementation of the program for the preparation of the city of Rostov-on-Don for matches of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in the city of Rostov-on-Don at a meeting.
The head of the city administration Vitaly Kushnaryov noted that it is necessary to meet the deadline for completing the program projects, as well as maintain the quality of the work done.
Reconstruction of Rostov Significant Places
The reconstruction of the bridge across the Don River and the main street “South Porch” will be completed by November 2017. The reconstruction of the Don Rowing Canal is per schedule. It is planned to be completed in December 2017. Also, the beach area of the left bank of the Don will be improved this year. To date, the design of the pedestrian boulevard and beautification of the beach area have been completed. The central part of the city does not go unnoticed. Major repairs of apartment houses, including roofs and facades, are under way.
The formation of a modern urban environment project has begun. The improvement of territories adjacent to training grounds is under way. The reconstruction of Stanislavsky Street is been carried out a well. The completion is scheduled for May 2018.
Transport Infrastructure Development
In 2017, the work will be carried out on 80 streets with a total length of 111 km and a total area of 1.5 million square meters within the framework of the Federal Project “Safe and Qualitative Roads.” In 2017-2018, 200 large-capacity passenger buses (100 buses in 2017, 100 buses in 2018) and 14 trams will be purchased. In addition, the City Center for the Management of Passenger Transport will be established in Rostov-on-Don.
Economy and Tourism
The First Deputy Head of the City Administration Alexander Skryabin informed the audience that there are enough means of collective placement in Rostov-on-Don. The construction of 7 hotels and major repairs of 1 hotel with a total of 1,061 rooms is underway. Their commissioning is scheduled before the start of the FIFA World Cup 2018.
