"Cargill" invests 1.5 billion rubles in the reconstruction of the Rostov port terminal

The corresponding agreement was signed at November 18, in Moscow at the site of the Russian Transport Forum. Following the implementation of the investment project, the capacity of the Cargill grain terminal in Rostov-on-Don will increase to 1 million tons per year.

The reconstruction of the grain terminal in Rostov was initiated by Cargill in order to increase the capacity for shipping products for export. The project includes the reconstruction of the quay to expand the technical ability to accept a wide range of vessels for loading, as well as the reconstruction of the infrastructure for receiving and handling grain.

For reference. Cargill is a Russian subsidiary of the American company Cargill, which is one of the largest international manufacturers and suppliers of products and services in the agricultural and food industry.

It is also one of the largest foreign investors in Russia, having invested more than US $ 1.2 billion in the development of the country’s agriculture and food industry. In Russia, the total number of the company’s employees is about 2,300 people.

In 2004, Cargill acquired the grain terminal of OOO PKF Brothers, located in Rostov-on-Don. Since then, most of Cargill’s agricultural products have been exported primarily from the Rostov region.

The annual volume of transshipment and export shipments at the Rostov terminal is 650,000 tons.
