The governor of Rostov region Vasily Golubev together with football players and the coaching staff of Rostov football club visited the stadium for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia under construction. This was reported by the press service of the region Government.
The players were particularly interested in preparing the football field. The installation of the drainage system will be completed by the middle of May, followed by the lawn sowing will start.
“This is a European stadium,” they shared their impressions. “We have not seen such a stadium in any Russian city!”
The Governor noted that no less important is the landscaping around the Rostov Arena. The completion of the western, eastern, southern and northern territories near the stadium, including the pedestrian boulevard and the beach area on the left bank, are planned to be completed by November this year. A large pedestrian boulevard will be built on the west side of the stadium. Around it, there will be trees and architectural compositions decorated with lighting. On the east side, the main pedestrian routes will be laid, which will be landscaped as well. On the south side of the stadium, the main landing areas for passengers arriving from the Platov airport will appear – they will be equipped with car parks and pedestrian walkways.
The work on the stadium under construction is ahead of schedule. At the moment, they are completed by 72%. The first test matches will be held in November 2017.
About a third of the facade panels have been mounted and installed. Plastering and electrical work, installation of sewage systems, water and heat supply are being carried out. There is also the installation of elevators and escalators, doors, stained-glass windows and window blocks.
