Official Opening of “Rostov-Arena” Will Be Held on May 13

The program of new stadium opening was entrusted for preparation by the governor Vasiliy Golubev on Wednesday, April 25, at the meeting of the Regional Organizational Committee on FIFA World Cup 2018 Preparation and Holding. The committee reviewed the progress of sport and engineering infrastructure preparation for the performance of testing matches and games of World Cup at the territory of the region. The Head of City Administration Vitaliy Kushnarev participated in the committee’s work.

The third test match, which will be held on May 13 at Rostov-Arena between football clubs Rostov and Ural, will not only be the final run-through before the World Cup games, but the beginning of new sports facility operation.


“This will be an official opening of the stadium. During its preparation we shall consider the experience of the other cities that welcome FIFA World Cup, where the opening of such objects already took place. For example, Yekaterinburg. And we should add some Don style, make the holiday beautiful”, Vasiliy Golubev said.

On May 13 the stadium of 45 thousand places capacity will be completely filled with the audience for the first time. All servicing and supporting systems and services will be functioning. All nearby and crossing parking areas will be equipped, the traffic will be opened for all the visitors on all the road network constructed near the stadium, the spectators delivery to the stadium will be arranged by the shuttle buses.
