The City Administration Discussed the Trade and Economic Cooperation with the Republic of Belarus

A meeting took place between the City Administration Deputy Head for Economy Dmitry Chernyshov and the head of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Rostov-on-Don Vladimir Neronsky.

It is to be recalled that Vladimir Neronsky has come into office recently – in October 2016 – and he swung into establishing international and inter-municipal ties.

The meeting was also attended by Svetlana Kambulova, the Head of the city’s Economy Department, Maria Krylosova, the Head of the Department for Foreign Relations and Intermunicipal Cooperation, as well as the representatives of Sberbank Leasing and Promagroleasing.

The meeting was devoted to the prospects of trade and economic cooperation between the Don capital and enterprises and organizations of the Republic of Belarus.

The share of entities in Rostov-on-Don, which are engaged in foreign economic activities and carrying out export-import transactions with enterprises of the Republic of Belarus in 2016 amounted to 14% of the total turnover of the Southern Federal District entities engaged in foreign economic activities.

It is to be recalled that the main exporters of the city are: Golden Seed, LLC, Alice Fashion Rus, JSC, Rostvertol, PJSC, and Tenth Bearing Plant, OJSC. In turn, Belarus exports to Rostov the following categories of goods: food products and raw materials for their production, chemical products, textiles and textile products, footwear and others.

Summing up the meeting, Dmitry Chernyshov has expressed his confidence that the partnership with the Republic of Belarus would be further developed this year.

- Today’s Rostov positions itself as one of the centers of business cooperation. I am sure that this year we will not only outline new plans for cooperation, but also implement important projects both for Rostov-on-Don and for Belarus, said Dmitry Chernyshov, the Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs.
