The Deputy Head of the City Administration for Economic Affairs Dmitry Chernyshov paid a working visit to the Northern Market, during which he has got acquainted with the operating infrastructure of the market first stage and evaluated the progress of the second one construction.
It is to be recalled that the three-story building market was put into operation in September 2013.
To date, 600 market places are located in the market building, 410 of them are for the sale of food products, including locally produced agricultural products, while the rest are reserved for the sale of other non-food products.
In addition to shopping stalls, there is also a built-in collector in the building, where 36 lines of municipal services were accommodated before the construction.
During the meeting, the market Director Gennady Nikolayev presented the Deputy Head of the City Administration for Economic Affairs the visualization of the market second stage construction. This facility is being constructed by the trading firm Donskie Zori, LLC.
According to its head, the work is proceeding according to the schedule.
The project’s result will be an eight-story building. The first three floors will be allocated for the food shopping center, and the next three floors – for the built-in parking lot for 330 cars, while the upper floors of the building will accommodated numerous public catering facilities, children’s entertainment centers, observation rooms, sports grounds and a conference hall.
Today, the construction is conducted at the level of the fourth floor.
The approximate scope of investments is RUB 550-600 million. To date, RUB 110 million have been spent. The facility construction completion is scheduled for 2020.
“One of our key tasks is to streamline the trade. We are trying to make Rostov as comfortable as possible for both citizens and guests, who will be especially numerous next year. That is why the city does a lot of work in this regard,” said Dmitry Chernyshov. “Today we also see a part of the market on the street and it is very good that in the next few years there will be a single food complex, which will be visited by new entrepreneurs and those who worked here before its appearance.”
